  • Overview

    Supports the ongoing development of new features, testing, documentation and service of existing functionality for Systems and other applications critical to the mission. Develops, reviews, analyzes and modifies systems to include installation, encoding, testing and debugging to support organizational systems. Consults with users to identify current operating procedures to clarify program objectives. Provides analysis and problem resolution of communications systems, mechanisms and architectures.

    Responsibilities

    • Respond for website portal update requests.
    • Design, implement and manage multiple MS Sharepoint farm environments and maintain application and data synchronization between farms.
    • Maintain documentation for all applicable hardware and software applications.
    • Create new site lists and document libraries needed for storing data within the SharePoint Architecture for managing new project data and attachments.
    • Install, configure and maintain network services and equipment to include switches, load balancers and firewalls.
    • Provide technical assistance administration of servers and server clusters to include MS SQL database servers, IIS web servers, MS Active Directory servers and other infrastructure support application servers.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in an applicable discipline.  In lieu of degree, relevant work experience may be substituted on a year for year basis.
    • MUST haves are current Secret clearance
    • MUST have CompTIA Security Plus certification. If a candidate does not have CompyTIA, Katmai can send them to school ($2,800 - $3,000 for class and cert) in exchange for a commitment to work for 2 years. (Candidate must stay a minimum two years or they reimburse Katmai Corp.)
    • Familiar with a variety of the concepts, practices, and procedures within a project’s technical field.
    • Knowledge of current modeling and simulation principles, techniques, processes, regulations, and policies.
    • Knowledge of software acquisition management, software development methodologies and software engineering processes.
    • Expertise in applying current and evolving engineering technologies.
    • Ability to provide technical advice on the conceptual design of simulations, simulators, training, and instrumentation systems required to support complex equipment or systems.
    • Ability to execute complex, multi-faceted projects within established financial and time constraints.
    • Working knowledge of all phases of computer system design and computer software acquisition management.
    • Working knowledge of telecommunications and networking standards, architectures, protocols and systems as it applies to training devices, simulation, simulators and instrumentation.
    • Comprehensive knowledge of software architecture and object modeling, domain engineering and software engineering processes as it applies to training/testing devices, simulations, simulators and instrumentation.
    • Comprehensive knowledge in software quality assurance and SCM as applied to the software life cycle development process.
    • Ability to understand user requirements, develop effective solutions, solve end user’s needs.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Strong organizational skills and detail oriented.
    • Ability to multi-task.
    • Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness; monitors own work to ensure quality.
    • Proven ability to exercise mature judgment – specifically in recognizing and respecting the confidential nature of corporate and personnel matters.

    Physical Demands

    Position consists of sitting for long periods of time, using hands/fingers, handling, reaching with hands and arms, talking, hearing and seeing up close, at a distance, along the periphery, with depth perception and the ability to focus; occasional walking or standing, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, and lifting boxes weighing up to 30 pounds.  Moderate to extended periods of office work with heavy periods of computer usage. May be assigned occasional to moderate periods of analytical tasks requiring extensive reasoning abilities.     Work Environment

    Work is performed in a professional office setting and laboratory testing environment, including the normal office equipment (computer, fax machines, copier), laboratory equipment, and with a wide variety of people in differing functions, personalities and abilities.

    Work Schedule

    40 hours per week.  May be required to work additional hours as needed to complete assignment or project.
