  • Overview

    Directs and manages teams to solve client problems. Manages projects and tasks; applies intensive and diversified knowledge of technical and management principles.  Makes decisions independently on problems and methods. Optimizes human resources needed in solving problems, estimating manpower required and schedules, and execution times. May have special skills in strategic planning, alignment, program integration, dispute resolution, statistical analysis, or training methods.  Performs high level analysis, evaluation, integration, documentation, and implementation. May supervise team of employees and subcontractors through project completion. May coordinate the activities of others assigned to specific projects. May perform other duties as assigned. 


    Assist Joint Atomic Information Exchange Group (JAIEG) Federal Manager with monitoring scientific and technical activities:

    • Monitor and authorize entrance and departure of visitors
    • Review and provide assessments of meeting agendas and visit reports.
    • Confirm meetings both by phone and email.
    • Examine Embassy faxes to verify validity of visitors.
    • Coordinate with UK Embassy on meetings.
    • Process Visit Authorizations and Visit Report cases by confirming technical scope of meetings and entering data into the JAIEG electronic database.
    • Prepare correspondence for signature.
    • Provide classified technical records management support for visit and correspondence archives.
    • Direct calls, and assist customers and visitors.

    Provide program support to ongoing programmatic activities related to the US/UK cooperation under the 1958 Mutual Defense Agreement:

    • Maintain liaison with the NNSA Service Center, National Laboratories, the U.S. Navy Strategic Systems Programs Office and UK Embassy to assure that U.S. commitments of material, data and documentation are provided to the UK as agreed. Assist in providing the US Navy Strategic Systems Programs Office and the NNSA Albuquerque Complex with JAIMS report numbers (JRN) for transmitting documents to the UK. Assist in providing JAIMS report numbers (JRN) for transmitting documents to the UK.
    • Prepare budgets for travel and training, provide security management, prepare reports, update security operational procedures (SOP) database, proof read/edit and mail correspondence in accordance with standard government format. Review for accuracy ensuring quality standards before scanning into Integrated Documents Records Management Systems (IDRMS).
    • Deliver and pick up packages from UK couriers.


    Provide administrative and technical support to JAIEG personnel:

    • Receive, review, and process all classified and unclassified packages sorting by subject matter. Coordinate transfer and reproduction of atomic media/documents, and assist with classified matter protection. Prepare and process for transmission, wrapping, and shipping of classified materials up to and including Top Secret Restricted Data (TS/RD).
    • Prepare and fax correspondence letters.
    • Enter bibliographical information into Information Management System Database, catalog documents, file correspondences, prepare document folders and file documents.


    • Requires a Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent, in relevant area of study.
    • 5+ years relevant experience required.
    • Requires considerable judgment, tact, discretion and initiative.
    • Has knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures with a particular field.
    • Wide degree of creativity and latitude is required.
    • Expert skills in Microsoft Office 7 (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Outlook), Adobe and other media type software.
    • Confidential data and information management experience required.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.


    • Individual must possess either a DoE Q clearance or Sigma 15 and Sigma 18 clearances. Five-year update for such clearance must have been acted on within past four years.
    • Must be exceedingly well organized, flexible.
    • Strong organizational skills and detail oriented.
    • Ability to multi-task.
    • Demonstrated ability to perform diverse duties under operating and deadline constraints.
    • Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness; monitors own work to ensure quality.
    • Occasional to moderate periods of analytical tasks requiring extensive reasoning abilities.


    Provide technical direction to support staff.

    Physical Demands

    Position consists of sitting for long periods of time, using hands/fingers, handling, reaching with hands and arms, talking, hearing and seeing up close, at a distance, along the periphery, with depth perception and the ability to focus; occasional walking or standing, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, and lifting boxes weighing up to 30 pounds.  Moderate to extended periods of office work with heavy periods of computer usage. May be assigned occasional to moderate periods of analytical tasks requiring extensive reasoning abilities.     Work Environment

    Work is primarily performed in a professional office setting, including the normal office equipment (e.g., computer, fax machines, copier) and with a wide variety of people in differing functions, personalities and abilities.

    Work Schedule

    40 hours per week.  May be required to work additional hours as needed to complete assignment or project.
