  • Overview

    Performance includes an expert in the assessment and planning of simulation based training, curriculum development, accreditation, implementation, after action evaluation, and revising of clinical simulation curriculum. The individual will work with the SMEs, and simulation technicians to develop curriculum/training modules to be used for the MSTT program and ORH National SimLEARN Project. The Curriculum Developer will provide expertise, consultation, and guidance to NSN and its clients in assigned project areas. Develop and apply new program methods, approaches, and technologies and/or extend, revise and adapt existing methodologies.


    • Work with the MSTT program and the ORH National SimLEARN Project in the development of curriculum that will be used for the development of simulation scenarios and programming that will be used for the training delivery. 
    • Assist SMEs with development of learning objectives, selection of appropriate instructional technology strategies and delivery systems for each project/program.
    • Collaborate in the preparation, development and use of educational materials; review existing materials for content and recommend acquisition of simulation equipment or adaption of materials.
    • The individual will work on accreditation packages for curriculum that is developed for the programs.
    • Occasional travel will be required for the completion of assigned duties.


    Minimum Qualifications:

    • The individual must possess a Master’s degree in nursing, paramedic, education, instructional design, or in a relevant degree field. 
    • Must possess experience in curriculum development and evaluation in the field where clinical simulation is used as the teaching modality.

    Special Skills:

    • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
    • Excellent interpersonal skills.
    • Operational computer skills with general working knowledge of word processing, and Microsoft applications (including Windows, Word, Excel, Outlook).
    • Able to define problems and obtain solutions.



    Physical Demands

    Frequent sitting, standing, walking, lying down or to be or remain in a position or state of inactivity.     Work Environment

    Work is performed primarily in an office setting.  Employee will be exposed to a wide variety of people in differing functions, personalities and abilities.

    Work Schedule

    40 hours per week.  May be required to work additional hours as needed to complete assignment or project.
