  • Overview

    The UX/UI Designer will be responsible for the web/mobile interface UX/UI design for an enterprise portal serving 1M users. UX/UI Designers are responsible for creating systems interface concepts based upon client needs and business objectives, brand and marketing strategies and technical requirements. They work closely with Information Architects and Product Owners to address user needs, and with Creative Technologists to produce effective and functional interface solutions while maintaining design integrity across all project phases.



    • UX/UI Designers should have a solid understanding of interface design theory, color and composition, typography, branding, print production, web and multimedia production tools, intuitive navigation schemes, and established web design conventions.
    • They should be familiar with information and site architecture, usability heuristics, marketing communications, competitive research and analysis, and e-commerce technologies.
    • Work closely with project team to design the look-and-feel of interfaces in AGILE environment.
    • Design of human interaction factors as it pertains to the presentation layer of web and mobile templates.
    • Responsible for designing and implementing comps for multiple projects utilizing modern HTML 5/CSS3/JS approach.
    • Designs “responsive/adaptive” interfaces that ensure superior usability across web/mobile platforms.
    • Research and implement contemporary design solutions to increase user interaction, streamline production and increase revenue.
    • Use Jira online tracking to report and complete interactive design tasks.



    • Bachelor’s degree in related field.
    • Minimum 5 years of experience in web/interactive environment.
    • Experience developing in an Agile Scrum environment.
    • Development experience using modern web platforms HTML 5, CSS and JavaScript (e.g. responsive design).


    • Strong web design skills to maximize the user experience for web and mobile projects.
    • Fluent in Adobe Creative Cloud 6, (Photoshop, Illustrator, Dreamweaver, Sketch, and other web tools).
    • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
    • Self-starter who is comfortable working both independently and with various skill sets including other designers and developers.
    • Organized and efficient with ability to document all stages of the design solutions.
    • Understanding of design, usability and functionality in multi-platform and browser environments.
    • Experience in Microsoft Office tools (Outlook, Word, Excel, Visio, etc.).
    • Ability to obtain and or maintain a valid secret security clearance (U.S. Citizenship required).
    • Travel up to 25%



    Physical Demands

    Position consists of sitting for long periods of time, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, and lifting boxes weighing up to 40 pounds.  Frequently uses hands/fingers for handling and working with small objects.  Seeing up close, must not be color blind and must be able to wear protective eye wear.  It is Katmai Government Service, LLC’s business philosophy and practice to provide reasonable accommodations, according to applicable state and federal laws, to all qualified individuals with physical or mental disabilities.

    Work Environment

    Work is performed in an office environment the majority of the time.  Long hours may be needed by project demand.

    Work Schedule

    40 hours per week.  May be required to work additional hours as needed to complete assignment or project.
