  • Overview

    The engineer will be responsible for providing engineering and architecture support to for cybersecurity and information security design, tools and security control implementation. The engineer will be responsible for supporting the A&A process.


    • Assist the customer with authorizing assessment and authorization (A&A) documentation.
    • Support writing and reviewing of Risk Management Framework (RMF) documentation packages to support risk assessments.
    • Be proficient with vulnerability scanning tools and frameworks to evaluate the security posture of a system.
    • Assist the customer in preparing training conferences, exercises, and video teleconferences to meet annual IA training objectives.
    • Writes and validates RMF Certification and Accreditation/Assessment and Authorization documentation.
    • Have technical understanding of emerging technologies and their implementation within the customer’s network environments.


    Minimum Qualifications:

    • Accredited B.S. in Computer Science or an equivalent field with a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience.
    • The Assessor shall have 6 years of the Information Assurance Certification and Accreditation Process RMF qualifications/experience.
    • Minimum 6 years of experience with a bachelor’s performing security management, testing, or engineering activities.
    • Experience with requirements analysis, architect, design, and documentation development of cybersecurity and information security solutions.
    • Knowledge of the system development life cycle and configuration management.
    • Experience with IA tools and scanners used to evaluate the security posture of the system/enclave.
    • Working knowledge of NIST 800 Series.
    • Writing and validating RMF Certification and Accreditation / A&A documentation
    • Must have an understanding of standards and requirements outlined by FISMA, NIST, and OMB.
    • Knowledge of web application security.
    • Knowledge of mobile application security.
    • Knowledge of RMF processes, procedures, governance.
    • Knowledge of Navy IA.

    • Organized and efficient with ability to document all levels of testing from unit to system testing
    • Comprehensive problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.
    • Ability to organize and prioritize workload to meet necessary deadlines.
    • Ability to work independently and collaborate in a team-oriented environment.
    • Experience in Microsoft Office tools (Outlook, Word, Excel, Visio, etc.).
    • Experience in the Atlassian tool suite (JIRA, Confluence, Crucible, Bitbucket, etc.).
    • Must possess and maintain a valid secret security clearance (U.S. Citizenship required).
    • Travel up to 25%.



    Physical Demands

    Position consists of sitting for long periods of time, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, and lifting boxes weighing up to 20 pounds.  Frequently uses hands/fingers for handling and working with small objects.  Seeing up close, must not be color blind.     Work Environment

    Work is performed in an office environment the majority of the time.  Long hours may be needed by project demand.

    Work Schedule

    40 hours per week.  May be required to work additional hours as needed to complete assignment or project.
