  • Overview

    Serves as contract team lead for network engineering and system administration.


    • Provides technical expertise and leadership in Local Area Network (LAN) support, data center operations, back-up and recovery operations, network operations, cybersecurity, and laboratory operations.
    • Assists the contract Operations Manager in prioritizing and completing government requirements and deliverables.
    • Provides recommendations and develops solutions for the overall planning, design, implementation and sustainment of all site networking activities including data center layouts, hardware configurations and inter-building connectivity.
    • Supports all technical phases of network sustainment.
    • Formulate logical designs of system problems, devise and implement procedures for solutions to those problems.
    • Complete and maintain operational and technical documentation.
    • Provides cyber security remediation to assure compliance with STIGS, OPORDS, and VDPs.
    • Leadership role, optimizing performance across the program, functionally and technically.


    Minimum Qualifications:

    • Security clearance required up to top secret.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required, as well as leading/mentoring subordinate staff members.
    • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or other business related is preferred.
    • CCNA and MCSA or MCSE plus baseline certification as stipulated in DoD 8570.01 and DoD 8570.01-M

    Special Skills:

    • It is preferred to have 4-5 years’ experience in electronics, data communications or telecommunications positions is preferred with progressive experience designing and/or installing CANs/LANs.
    • Extensive knowledge of LAN hardware (routers and switches) and software, including connectivity between the network devices and segments.
    • Ability to design, develop, and maintain firewalls, Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS), Intrusion Prevention System (IPS), VPNs, remote access systems such as Network Access Control (NAC) devices, and wireless solutions for the enterprise.
    • Provides guidance and training to less experienced team members.
    • Provides assistance for complex networking issues to less experienced team members.
    • Expertise with DoD, Army, and MEDCOM Cyber Security policies and directives.



    Physical Demands

    Position consists of sitting for long periods of time, using hands/fingers, handling, reaching with hands and arms, speaking or translating.  Periods of walking, standing, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, and lifting equipment weighing up to 30 pounds.  Moderate to extended periods of office work with heavy periods of computer usage. May be assigned occasional to moderate periods of analytical tasks requiring extensive reasoning abilities.     Work Environment

    Work is performed primarily indoors at a well-lit office or server room environment. The environment is normally air conditioned, but conditions may change dependent upon circumstances.  Work may need to be performed in a fast-paced environment requiring quick thinking and rapid judgements.  Employee will be exposed to a wide variety of clients in differing functions, personalities and abilities.

    Work Schedule

    Full time with occasional travel between IT support facilities. Systems Engineer III (Network Engineer Lead) shall be available and required to work additional hours as deemed necessary for adequate deliverable care of services.
